Blackbird Soap
Handmade in Washington State, Blackbird Soap was made to commemorate both the opening of the new Blackbird store in Portland, Oregon and the eruption of Mount St. Helens which lies between the Portland and Seattle stores. Coming in two large black blocks (one for Portland and one for Seattle), the soap is made from the finest natural ingredients; such as saponified olive, coconut, shea butter, beeswax, and activated charcoal; and has a minty/woodsy scent from the Oregon peppermint, Washington geranium, Portland rose and Pacific Northwest cedar. Our favourite feature is the two visual cues, one being an aerial view of the mountain, and the other being a picture of Harry R. Truman. Harry was the proprietor of Spirit Lake Lodge for 52 years, and thought that roughly one mile and a small body of water was enough to protect him from the wrath of the mountain. Subsequently, he refused to evacuate...and we all know how that ended. You can get your hands it here.
