Reindeer Pavilion by SNØHETTA
Who doesn't love observing animals in the wild, and the beautiful vistas that accompany them. However, in the far northern hemisphere the winter weather generally prevents one from spending too much time out of doors. At the Dovrefjell National Park, the Norwegian Wild Reindeer Foundation have commissioned architecture firm SNØHETTA to create an information and observation pavilion in order to provide some much needed warmth and comfort from which to enjoy the view of the reindeer. Like almost everything scandinavian, they put a premium on design as well as function, and have managed to create a beautiful and unobtrusive modern structure that is receiving praise and accolades all over the place. Lots of pictures after the jump.
