Mariachi El Bronx - Cell Mates
What can you say about a LA hardcore band that decided to dabble with an alter-ego side project that plays mariachi music replete with horns, accordions and 5 string guitars, that wasn't said in the previous 34 words in this sentence. We love this song, and the great visuals that accompany it. And before you accuse these guys of being camp, or disrespectful to the genre, you are wrong. They love this music, and are the first to admit that they are tourists in this musical realm. They're making their way up the West Coast this and next week, hitting up San Diego, Oakland, Portland, Seattle, and then getting the opening slot on the Foo Fighters Canadian dates starting in Vancouver on the 25th. Their latest, "Mariachi El Bronx II," is available at fine music purveyors everywhere.
