It's been a while since we've seen a proper english gangster flick...the last being "RocknRolla", an underrated gangster classic in our opinion. We're happy to see that we can now look forward to one, and one from the mind that wrote "The Departed" no less. It appears from the trailer that it has all the ear marks of the genre we've come to love so much; the reluctant hero who's bullied about but finds his bollocks in the end, the beautiful but unrelated to the underworld love interest, and the aging gangland patriarch full of quips and wisdom. It stars Colin Farrell, who in the past has made some real stinkers but has redeemed himself as of late (see "In Bruge") and we have always loved his propensity for violence, on and off screen. It was quietly released in 2010 across the pond, and will have an equally quiet release this fall in the Americas.
