Personally, we prefer the magnetic knife bar that mounts to the wall, as it shows off your badass blades but also keeps them out of the way and off the counter in a space that would other wise go wasted. However, if we had to have a knife block, the one above would be the one of choice. Looking more like a Bang & Olufsen accessory rather than a knife block, it rotates 360 degrees, allowing it to be positioned just so, to not only be handy but safe. The one above is birch, but if you need to complete your 80's fantasy decorating theme, it also comes in black.
